John Dean is an artist practicing in Canada. His work spans more than 4 decades and is included in many public and private collections including the National Gallery Still Photography Division and the Alberta Foundation for the Arts. His images are highly formalized studies of locations around the world including Italy, France, Mexico, Cuba, USA, and Asia. He graduated in 1975 from The Alberta College of Art and Design in Painting and received the ACAD Award of Excellence, Distinguished Alumni Award in 2006. A book of 100 of his images of a vanishing urban community titled EastEnd was published in 2007.
