María José Giraldo Zumaqué (b.1989) is a contemporary artist living and working in Bogotá, Colombia. She majored in Art at Universidad de los Andes in Bogotá, obtaining her degree in 2012. Her work is composed by bi-dimensional techniques, such as drawing, painting but specially printmaking, mainly drypoint, linocut and woodcut. Since her thesis project she has been exploring the possibilities of self- portrait and the idea of the vulnerability of the human figure to changes, to mutation. Currently she alternates her time between her artwork and being and art teacher.
