Born in Montreal in 1956, Christiane Roy set up her workshop in Sutton, in the Eastern Townships, more than thirty years ago. A graduate from the University of Quebec in Montreal in 1978. From 1979 to 1981, she worked as an apprentice in Montauban, France, under the supervision of Marc Dautry, a great burinist. He taught her the secrets of burin engraving by encouraging her to copy great masters like Durër and Goltzius.
