Niall Naessens was born in Dublin in 1961. He studied Visual Communications at the National College of Art and Design in Dublin. He later learnt printmaking at the Graphic Studio Dublin and worked there making his own art as well as working with visiting artists to the studio between 1990 and 2005. He completed a Masters in Fine Art Print at the National College of Art and Design in 2013. Naessens moved to Brandon, County Kerry and built his own etching workshop. His prints use a wide variety of drawing procedures interpreting his remote environment. His most recent exhibition L12121 Picture Panoply was shown at the Graphic Studio Gallery, Dublin 2015.
