Susanne Wawra (b. 1980) is a German artist based in Dublin, Ireland. Working across different media, she explores the intersection between personal autobiography and historical events. Utilising photographs from her own family albums as well as archives purchased via the internet, Wawra draws on printed matter to interrogate her experience of growing up in East Germany before the fall of the Wall. Named in "50 People To Watch in 2017" in The Irish Times, Wawra's work is recently on show in 'A Vague Anxiety' at the Irish Museum of Modern Art, Dublin. In 2018, Wawra exhibited Portals at The LAB, Dub Continuar a ler...ue Anxiety' at the Irish Museum of Modern Art, Dublin. In 2018, Wawra exhibited Portals at The LAB, Dublin (IE) and Living in A Bubble at Luan Gallery, Athlone (IE). Her work is held in public and private collections such as the Dolores & Bob Hope Foundation (USA) and The Office of Public Works (IE).
