The prints of Colleen Dwire are mainly wood engravings and linoleum cuts. The history of the print as an economical, radical and swift means of expression for social and political change is of particular interest, as well as the role of wood engraving as the predominant medium for commercial illustration before photography took its place. She also creates illustrations for contemporary children’s literature.
